Using narrative in design

 

Brief

Sarah and Thomas live in a new estate on the western edge of Melbourne with their 7-year-old daughter Emily.

Emily has attended a private school and is regularly ferried around from organised activity to organised activity. Thomas and Sarah have decided that there very structured lifestyle has removed from nature and self-learning and want to give her a chance to connect with this.

They have a smallish labradoodle that is two and a half years old. It is a relaxed dog and has a doggy door to come inside and sleep.

  • Clothesline with access from the left-hand side of the building

  • Informal dining for 6-8 people

  • A small cupboard shed for garden tools

Outputs

  • A description of the narrative you are creating

  • Board of Inspirational images that captures the colour scheme you are trying to

  • At least 4 schematic sketches

  • A coloured final schematic sketch
